Teaching music is integral to our identity as string players. We love working with students of all ages, from 3 years old to adult beginners. Whether you are a returning player or looking to switch from one instrument to another, we have the experience to tailor our teaching style to fit perfectly with your (or your student’s) individual needs.

We have been teaching violin, viola, and cello online successfully for months during COVID and have also resumed in-person lessons based on the comfort level of our students and parents. We follow recognized protocol for the use of masks and sanitizing procedures. Flexibility is key and we look forward to building a customized learning plan that will best fit your needs.

We would love for you to join Magnolia String Studios!

In addition to having years of private teaching experience, Raiden and Katie have had leadership roles in a variety of student-oriented outreach and performance programs. Recent highlights include:

  • “The Art of Performance” middle and high school workshop with Professor Tim Kantor at the Fred Fox School of Music at the University of Arizona
  • Outreach performances for the Tucson Unified School District with Grove String Quartet sponsored by the Arizona Friends of Chamber Music
  • Youth string teaching programs through the Fred Fox School of Music
  • Leadership roles in the Tucson Cello Congress annual event
  • Work with under-served communities in Tucson to give string students access to lessons otherwise out of their reach

We hope to see you in a lesson soon!
